Once the earthy, natural, brown golden toned palette was chosen, we took to Pinterest to grab some inspo and put our ideas together. We were super lucky to snap up this this super industrial location - The Shoe Factory, based in Norwich. It was the perfect base for the look we had in mind - simplistic and minimalist, with an element of bohemian luxe.
Camilla Andrea was the lady behind the lens for this shoot. She captures wedding days but also has a love for shooting styled bridal and fashion shoots. She also digs the bohemian aesthetic, so I knew this shoot would be right up her street with her use of golden, natural tones.
Styling and Fabrics
Mia Sylvia is all about re-using and regenerating the environment by upcycling bridalwear and sourcing ethical fabrics, all hand dyed in small batches with love and uses 100% natural pigments such as flowers, plants and food waste. For this shoot Mia used her hand dyed fabrics to style abandoned factory pieces left in the warehouse to make some killer backdrops.
Hair and makeup
I love to create effortless, undone and textured looks for modern, bohemian brides. For this hair and makeup look I went with a simple, understated loose wave through Alisha’s hair along with a luminous, natural styled makeup with fluffy brows and warm tones. This fresh look is sure to inspire any bride with modern bohemian feels on their wedding day. I made the sassiest crystal crown further adding to those boho vibes.
White Reflections Bridal are Inspiring the savvy bride to not be scared to go with untraditional bridalwear. These dresses from The Wild Heart Collection from Rue De Seine & Daughters Of Simone are the dream dress for the bohemian bride. Each dress is unique to the brides style and personality with lace and patterns to die for. You know you will be standing out from the crowd with a bridal dress never to be forgotten.
The inspiration for the cakes came directly from the space in which they were photographed. Texture and sculptural form are key elements in Imogen’s work and picking up on the worn industrial surfaces of the Shoe Factory were prime inspiration.
The subtle, neutral marble effect on the four textured tiers is finished with deckle edges and a flourish of edible gold leaf. The design of this double sided cake includes peeled back layers revealing seams of gold running through marble.
The “Stem” cake features structured, impressed stems within the delicate deckle edged icing. Utilising fragile dried grasses from our florist, and stems to complete both cakes brings a natural component against the warehouse background.
Our florist, Valley of Flowers created a beautiful dried flower bouquet keeping in with the neutral tones using grasses, dried eucalyptus and some added metallic pieces too.
Adding an element of luxe and finishing off the look, Lennie Beare creates bespoke handmade contemporary jewellery inspired by organic shapes and the process of making. Each piece is unique and different to the next.
For the printed stationary by In the Details, we kept it simple, using plain white card and a whimsical font along with kraft envelopes. We were lucky enough to have some beautiful handwritten pieces too by For Keeps created in gold pen on handmade paper, giving that super boho luxe feel.
