Teaching a natural dye workshop in the Bulgarian mountains

Teaching a workshop on Bulgarian mountains was an incredible experience.
.
I gathered some ingredients such as turmeric, onion skins, dried hibiscus and black turtle beans from home.
.
The location in the mountains was filled with meadows that are thriving with wildlife from plants, flowers (wild orchids!!!) and such an array of species and especially the different types of bees was so beautiful ❤️
.
The rule of thumb when foraging for Dye ingredients it to forage no more then 30% of what is already there. This is so the wildlife can continue to flourish.

Bulgaria has a really rich source of plants and flowers in the mountains and @emily.moore92 helped me forage and specify the types of plants as she's an ecologist she really had a field day😉

With all these ingredients and the amount of people who turned up for the workshop, I ended up having to teach two! (thankyou so much!) we had a really lovely time learning and discovering new colours from nature.
