The language and relationship with flowers
Recently me and my previous housemate moved to a beautiful home. My Mum bought us some yellow roses as a welcoming present for us. Did you know that yellow roses symbolise friendship? You can never go wrong with yellow roses. Long associated with the sun and its life-giving warmth, yellow is the age-old spokes-color for warm feelings of friendship and optimism. In many Eastern cultures, the color represents joy, wisdom and power.
I decided to dye some fabric with the roses once they had come to the end of their life span. The way a piece of fabric can communicate without words really captures emotions. I want to create a dialogue through my artwork and how people can invest into the stories and emotions behind them.
